Fall '20 Service Update

In spite of the pandemic, Fall 2020 is proving to be just as busy as ever for chimney sweeps. We are currently scheduling into December. That means that most exterior repairs will be scheduled for late winter/early spring 2021.

We’re also continuing our expanded efforts to limit possible exposure to Cover-19. This includes:

  • contactless payments

  • requiring customers & technicians to wear masks that cover their nose & mouth for the duration of the inspection

  • wearing gloves during inspections & repairs

  • providing hand sanitizer to technicians and encouraging it’s use in addition to frequent hand washing.

  • limiting the number of staff at one time in our office

  • keeping our staff up to date on the best recommendations available to limit possible exposure/transmission of the virus

Covid-19 Service Update

Updated March 30, 2020: B&H Chimneys is still open.

Governor Larry Hogan has issued a stay-at-home order beginning at 8pm today, March 30th. This requires all Marylanders to stay at home except for essential travel and work. This does not change or affect the previous order regarding the operation of “essential “ businesses. See below:

Governor Larry Hogan issued an executive order requiring all non-essential businesses in Maryland to close as of 5 P.M. on March 23, 2020. Chimney maintenance companies fall under an exempt category of business under this order and we will continue to operate. Please continue reading to learn more about the precautions we are taking to protect our employees, clients, and community, and prevent the spread of the virus.

Postponing your inspection/sweep

If you would like to postpone your upcoming appointment until after the COVID-19 crisis has passed, please Contact our office instead of simply canceling your appointment online.

Hi Neighbors,

Thank you for entrusting us with the maintenance of your chimney and hearth appliances. With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak present here in our community, we wanted to share some of the extra precautions we are taking to combat the spread of the virus.

Our team is closely monitoring and following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), In addition to state and local authorities to ensure that we are doing our part to keep you, our employees, and our community safe.

We’re also:

  • Asking you, our clients, to postpone or reschedule your inspection/sweep if any person in your house is sick or shows signs of illness.

  • Practicing social distancing and minimizing face-to-face contact with clients.

  • Reinforcing our existing health and safety protocols with our staff, such as the importance of frequent and proper handwashing, glove use, mask use, and thoroughly disinfecting their equipment after each job.

  • Ensuring employees have the information they need to remain healthy and instructing them to stay home from work if they, or any member of their household, are sick or exhibiting symptoms of illness.

We anticipate that school closures and illnesses etc. will impact our availability during this outbreak. This disruption may lead to an increase in the number of appointments we have to reschedule or postpone.

As we continue to monitor the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus, we will do all we can to help you stay safe, healthy, and informed. Our team is prepared for any service changes should they be required by the CDC or local officials.
